We have found the best way to install these grill's after they are modified when the factory galvanized silver clips have been removed from the bottom of the grill! Which is by using the factory screws at the top and 2 DUPONT 66 NYLON (UL LISTED) cable ties expected to last 2 5 years which will make it as secure from the factory for as long as you own your truck. This is simple and easy and blends right into the honeycomb so it can't b e seen!

Does it reuse that factory clips at the bottom so that its as secure as the original? Dear oo4lifeoo, That's a great question! No, when you remove nearly 1 3/8 from the bottom of the grill you also remove the 5 tabs that attach the black honeycomb to the chrome grill itself.

What this means is there is no way to secure the the grill using the factory clips properly because the honeycomb is no longer attached to the chrome at the bottom. And if the grille is cut correctly there is not enough room to screw a jury rigged piece of aftermarket metal bracket and clip to the honeycomb piece correctly! The screws would be exposed, not embedded correctly which will jeopardize the structural integrity of the installation leaving it very flimsy.

Some sellers try to use non galvanized aftermarket metal clips made in China that rust quickly, that are smashed flat which remove all the tension that hold's the grill in place unlike the Ford (OEM U shaped galvanized clip) and are exposed and rust on the honeycomb, grille and bumper, and stick out like a sore thumb, even all 4 will more often than not, come loose after you hit the first bump causing the grill to rattle. Instead what we use are the factory screws at the top and 2 Dupont 66 nylon cable ties which has a 25 year life expectancy which are the same idea that law enforcement uses to detain criminals which are extremely stronger and placed not at the bottom but higher up were the honeycomb is attached with 6 tabs to the chrome part of the grill and blends right in so you can't see them for as long as you own your truck!
